Hammi’s Kitchen was founded by Oak Lo — a diplomat’s wife, world traveler, and most importantly, a grandmother. Her nickname “Hammi” came from her grandchildren, who couldn’t pronounce “Halmoni,” the Korean word for grandma.
As Oak shared her cooking across continents, her Korean heritage became a love language that transcended borders. During the pandemic, she created Hammi’s Kitchen to preserve and pass on the recipes she learned from her mother and grandmother — especially to her grandchildren.
Today, we continue that legacy: making clean, family-friendly food that honors Korean roots and global taste.
